Attending Place

Royal Adelaide Hospital Foyer May - Sept 2022

To create these new works on paper, motifs and imagery are repeated, reassembled and layered through the printmaking process, drawing on the ancient idea that ‘no one can ever step in the same river twice’. These prints draw inspiration from local walks in nature, along riversides and amongst intertwining paths, and the connection this restorative act builds within the self. The interwoven layers of each work connect present and future moments, invoking ideas of hope, opportunity and change in times of uncertainty.

By deepening a sense of connection to self and environment through walking and aligning these experiences within the landscape and with the making process, it is my hope that these works offer a sense of optimistic calm to those visiting & working within the RAH space.
