GEORGINA WILLOUGHBY
Georgina seeks to convey a sense of place in her work, responding to the natural & human-made elements within place and landscape. Her semi-abstract compositions reflect a personal visual language of intuitive mark-making in which organic & textural shapes & motifs are exploited through the lithographic printing process. The process of lithography enables the spontaneous layering of expressive graphic marks to be printed in variations of rich, earthy colour.
Graduating from AC Arts in 2015 with a major in Printmaking, Georgina has since exhibited regularly in various group exhibitions, collaborations and community art projects within South Australia relating to themes of place, landscape & environment. In 2022 Georgina's body of lithographs were selected as a finalist in SALA Festival's Contemporary Art Award.
Georgina creates insitu on Kaurna Country & in her Stone & Quoin studio at 6 Manton Street, Hindmarsh.
